Crafted by artisan members of our collective, the Hummingbird Tepi is a distinctive ceremonial serving applicator shaped with intention, detail, and a strong sense of balance between natural materials and symbolic artistry.
One side may be made from Palo Santo, Palo Sangre, Chonta wood, or sustainably sourced lamb bone reclaimed from the food cycle, while the opposite side is formed from hand-polished lamb bone. Together, the contrasting materials create a visual and tactile balance between earthiness, lightness, and form.
Intricate Shipibo-inspired beadwork wraps the central section, bringing color, rhythm, and ancestral visual language into the piece. A natural chrysocolla gem and finely ground chrysocolla dust are incorporated as accents, traditionally associated with harmony and expression.
An Ayahuasca vine carving honors Pachamama and the relationship between plant knowledge and the natural world, while porcupine spines wrapped with alpaca wire complete the design with another layer of texture and symbolism.
Because each Hummingbird Tepi is individually assembled from natural materials, differences in wood tone, bone coloring, stone pattern, beadwork, and finishing are expected and make every piece distinct.
Care
Gently clear the airway before and after each use by blowing through the channel away from your face. Store the tepi in a dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight.
Wipe the exterior with a clean, dry cloth and avoid soaking or chemical cleaners. Protect the curved body and decorative details from impacts or pressure during travel and storage. A protective pouch is recommended.
